Technicool introduces an environmentally safer hybrid chiller for the Western Bay Of Plenty District Council, replacing outdated air conditioning units that utilized R22 refrigerant with a more sustainable and innovative alternative. The new Mitsubishi Electric Hybrid VRF avoids ozone-damaging refrigerants completely by incorporating water between the Circuit Controller and all indoor units which is both efficient and significantly reduces environmental impact.

Manawatu Cold Store has significantly upgraded the refrigeration capability in its Environmental Loading Area (ELA). “As a consequence of our increased throughput for blasting and then outbound processing, to much moisture was getting introduced into the areas” explained GM Brent Cawthray, “so we got these great units installed and the condensation disappeared immediately. Very happy!”

National Metal Fabricators – a division of National Springs in Christchurch, has completed their move into a building 3 times bigger than their former premises. “With the amount of work we have on order, there was just no way we could stay” explained manager Warren Park, “we need at least five welding bays plus room for the new machines on order. But this modern building in Wigram is perfect with a good stud, solid crane and a great office and showroom. Come and have a look!”

Solo confirms it now offers stormwater wet wells, waste water manholes and inspection pits in HDPE to sit alongside the storage tank range already available. Using the giant Krah pipes from Infrapipe, Solo can now fabricate the vast majority of the products required for storm and water lines (from 375-3200mm diameter), meaning that heavy, expensive, bad-for-the-planet and prone-to-corrosion concrete fixtures are no longer required. And like HDPE pipes, in a hundred years they can be recycled if needed!

Such was the devastation caused by the fire on Jan 22, it has taken a long time for the new owners to be supplied with the full range of replacement moulds, but now it’s all paddles blazing!

National Springs confirmed that it now holds the full range of replacement garage door springs in stock in their Papakura factory (where they are made on a beautiful CNC lathe purchased a couple of years ago). Not only do they supply direct to some manufacturers, but they can now offer good service and a fair price to all the maintainers nationwide keeping NZ’s millions of garage doors going up and down every day.
