Galloway Group’s new huge twin-arm shuttle rotational moulding machine is now commissioned and churning out tanks apace. Occupying the space previously used for boat fit-out (which has now moved to another site as the boat division has doubled in size), the huge machine took three weeks to assemble on site, but adds significant capacity for round tanks, square tanks, playgrounds, small boats and contract moulding for OEM customers. The video below shows a 5000l tank emerging from the oven after the heating cycle.

National Springs acquires Sands Industries in Christchurch. “An established wire-forming engineering business like Sands is a great fit for us as our South Island sales grow” explained GM Mike Baird, “and we have picked up some great people to add to the National Springs crew.”

Solo is fixing Auckland’s dirty beaches under your feet – but you would never know. Solo is the country’s largest provider of onsite welding for plastic pipes and in this video, Solo’s highly trained technicians can be seen at work inside a 2.5m diameter branch of the Central Interceptor tunnel, sealing the joins. This is no quick job for Solo, the site teams start on the giant 4.5m diameter cavern of the main line soon!

Promains Papakura

Promains’ South Auckland branch has outgrown its first home and has now moved into a 2,139sqm facility (building 916sqm) a stones throw away in Hunua Road. The building has been refurbished to meet Promains needs and General Manager Richard Eardly states that “This fantastic facility will show the world what all Promains branches will look like, once we have completed our programme to find, buy and optimise a building for each Promains location”
