Solo formally opens the doors at its Christchurch facility, which will make Solo’s vast range of products available in the South Island. The branch in Wigram also has a bending capability to manufacture in PVC ensuring low lead times and fast service for customers that side of the strait.

Promains’ South Auckland branch has outgrown its first home and has now moved into a 2,139sqm facility (building 916sqm) a stones throw away in Hunua Road. The building has been refurbished to meet Promains needs and General Manager Richard Eardly states that “This fantastic facility will show the world what all Promains branches will look like, once we have completed our programme to find, buy and optimise a building for each Promains location”

National Springs and its division National Traps are delighted to announce that their Predator BT200 trap has been successfully tested against NAWAC standards, joining its highly successful big brother the Predator BT250. National traps is already one of the leading suppliers to bodies working towards Predator-free New Zealand, and now their great service is available for those targeting rats, stoats and ferrets, as well as possums.

Infrapipe delivers the first load of Ecopipe, a culvert pipe product, for roading and forestry. General Manager Fynn McDonough waved off the first B-train loaded to the hilt with around 30 culvert pipes for a contractor customer in the South Island, and explained that because this pipe could be nested with several pipes inside each other, it had far less freight costs than most alternatives.

Infrapipe passes the audit phase of its AS/NZS 5065:2005 – Polyethylene and polypropylene pipes and fittings certification, a vital step toward technical acceptance by water authorities for civil works. The unique Krah system means that a pipe can be designed to the structural requirement of each unique job, saving councils large amounts of money compared to all the alternatives which lack the many strengths of Infrapipe.

Galloways has invested in a new, additional shuttle twin-station rotational moulding machine following the success of the existing Oven 9. “This gives us an extra 20-30% capacity, depending on product mix” explained CEO Phil Wilson, “and allows us to welcome further custom-moulding customers, as before we were hamstrung by machine time”.
