Following the fire which completely destroyed their factory in Feb 2022, owners the Montague family decided to sell Viking kayaks to Galloway which has the resources needed to restore the brand, and the complementary products (such as Smartwave boats) to expand export operations further. Nevertheless, the design, manufacture and commissioning of replacement moulds is not expected to be complete until the end of 2022, despite Galloway’s best efforts, such was the devastation caused by the fire.
