INFRAPIPE has just released its new Manual for all aspects of Inspection, Repair, Maintenance and Modification and with it a list of Recognised Support Professionals – those with the skills and equipment to undertake repair or modification work, should an asset manager not wish to go through INFRAPIPE, Solo or Promains and it is available on the website here.

Now that testing and certification is complete, INFRAPIPE has launched the CIVILPIPE in SN8 (blue stripe) and SN16 (red stripe) for infrastructure applications FARMPIPE in SN6 for forestry and rural use. Whilst there are some inferior imported equivalents, there is no other manufacturer of twin wall above DN450 in New Zealand and INFRAPIPE believes this offer of a trusted product at a great price will be welcomed in the market.

INFRAPIPE has been awarded Type Approval for their pipes in heavy duty configurations in railside applications up to 2m in diameter and 15m deep (more by special design). It is the only pipe solution thus recognised and is being used for the rehabilitation of the Northern Line and work on the Main Line in the Drury & Pukekohe areas.

The Whakahuu replacement culvert is a mighty 3.2m diameter culvert from INFRAPIPE – the largest pipes being made in Australasia. Part of the restoration work after Cyclone Gabrielle, the wingwalls were cast in situ and fish passage enhancements included baffles inside the pipe and a ladder outside it.

Galloway has successfully completed USCG (US Coastguard) certification for the Smartwave range of boats. Infrapipe and Galloway have completed their move into a new combined facility at Kerwyn Avenue in East Tamaki. For INFRAPIPE it houses the pressure pipe extrusion lines – which need a building 70m long, while Galloway’s MAC & Smartwave boat fit-out and Viking kayak division occupy the remainder of the 3500 sqm building. Located only 1k from the respective factories, it makes the best use of space and permits both companies to run better shift patterns by having staff co-located.

Technicool provides the most efficient solutions possible and in combination with a huge CO2 refrigeration plant for the cold store extension, has provided a matching glycol heating system. Without control the temperature difference between the slab and the soil and the layers of the slab can cause icing and expansion, and the consequent frost heave literally raises the floor – an expensive problem. Technicool’s ingenious solution recovers waste heat from the main CO2 plant and sends it through pipes in the slab, keeping the freezing at bay.

The last of the panels is about to go in at the cold store, marking the end of the period when the Manawatu’s delightful climate could endanger the timeline. With six truck docks and 3000m2 of refrigerated floor space, Room 8 represents a considerable increase in the capacity of the region to support its meat exporters.
